As a Senior Backend Developer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust and scalable backend systems. Your expertise in backend development, combined with your leadership capabilities, will be instrumental in driving the success of our projects. Our goal is to hire the best of the best. Salary is commensurate with experience and we are willing to offer relocation packages to beautiful Tampa/St. Petersburg, FL.

About The Role

  • Title: Senior Backend Engineer (Node.js)
  • Job Location: St. Petersburg, FL
  • Type: On-site
  • Standard Office Hours: 9:00am - 5:00pm

Preferred skills for this role

  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools for continuous integration and deployment.
  • Contributions to open-source projects or active participation in the developer community.
  • Familiarity with NextJS Framework and its concepts
  • Experience programming against or implementing eCommerce solutions
  • Strong React development skills is highly recommended

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
  • Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in backend development
  • Highly proficiency in backend programming language, Node.js
  • Solid understanding of database technologies and proficiency in MySQL databases
  • Experience or familiarity with cloud platforms and services, specifically AWS
  • Leadership capabilities, including guiding technical decisions
  • Demonstrated expertise in building scalable and high-performance RESTful APIs
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and debug complex issues
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
